About mySociety
We were founded in 2003 to help people become active citizens through technology, research, and data. We build and share digital technologies across three practice areas: Democracy, Transparency, and Community. Our work is supported by research, sector building, and commercial activities.
We’re recognized for our role in establishing the Civic Technology sector. We use digital technologies to lower barriers to civic participation and connect people and organizations at scale.
SocietyWorks, our commercial arm, manages a technical client portfolio and focuses on expanding its client base within the UK local government sector. SocietyWorks helps clients, especially in the UK local government, maximize their use of our products.
Mission & Values
Our mission is rooted in the belief that secure and fair democracies require engaged and informed citizens. We aim to enhance civic participation for millions of people, enabling them to collectively drive changes in government policy and practice.
This work contributes to building effective, accountable, and inclusive governance, leading to more equitable, democratic, and sustainable societies. Our commercial activities through SocietyWorks align with achieving social impact and supporting our not-for-profit mission.
Team & Culture
We have 11-50 employees. Our work environment is remote-first and agile, with an emphasis on collaboration across departments and teams.
Some roles involve regular travel for client meetings, conferences, and industry events, offering opportunities to work in both UK and international contexts.
Benefits & Perks
We offer an annual salary ranging from £40,000 to £50,000 (FTE). Our pension scheme includes a 4% employer contribution and a 4% employee contribution.
