Remote Opportunity: Senior Writer – Insurance Group

£30-35k per annum | Full-time | B2B News | Remote (UK-based publisher)

Are you a skilled B2B writer with a strong commercial sense and the ability to deliver sharp content under deadlines? Do you enjoy balancing editorial excellence with client-facing content needs?

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Writer to join our international editorial team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing commercial and sponsored content, as well as contributing to editorial content across Intelligent Insurer’s platforms and sister publications. You will collaborate closely with the editor and commercial team to meet client expectations while upholding editorial standards.

The role would suit a journalist who has several years’ experience already under their belt writing about business or finance and who is now looking to progress their career. A broad understanding of business and finance is important, but an in-depth knowledge of this specific industry is not.

What you’ll be doing

As Senior Writer, you will:

  • Write high-quality commercial and sponsored content based on agreed client packages, including conducting and producing interview-led features
  • Deliver multiple executive interviews within tight timeframes, particularly during peak conference periods
  • Turn interviews, briefings and background materials into clear, engaging and publishable articles at speed
  • Work closely with the Editor to ensure all content meets Intelligent Insurer’s editorial standards and tone
  • Collaborate directly with the Client Relationship Manager to understand client objectives, deliverables and timelines
  • Contribute to core editorial content, including news and feature writing, as required
  • Manage several commissioned pieces simultaneously, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines
  • Produce post-event client reports, analysing performance data and summarising outcomes clearly and professionally
  • Maintain accuracy, professionalism and attention to detail across all written output

You will regard attention to detail as fundamental and take pride in producing accurate, well-crafted articles that delivers genuine insight to our readers. You will create thoughtful, non-fluffy features and interviews that clients trust and appreciate. Success will be evident when clients are satisfied with seamless delivery, and your writing enhances the reputation of our publication, both commercially and editorially.

We are looking for a tenacious team player that is confident in taking ownership of their responsibilities, but even more confident in asking for help when they need it. The right candidate will thrive in a deadline-driven environment, who can manage multiple interviews and projects simultaneously. Someone with the ability to communicate with external stakeholders of all levels in a professional and friendly manner.

You’ll be a great fit if you have

  • 5+ years’ experience in B2B journalism or professional writing
  • A degree in media, journalism or a related discipline
  • A strong understanding of business and financial reporting (insurance sector knowledge advantageous but not essential)
  • Excellent written English, sound editorial judgement and exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to quickly absorb complex information and translate it into clear, accurate copy
  • Experience conducting video and executive-level interviews
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional confidence when working with senior external stakeholders
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret engagement data and performance metrics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress), and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • A collaborative, proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working from home
  • Friendly, honest and cheerful disposition
