About Nillion
We founded Nillion in 2021 to build the first blind computer for high-value data. We aim to decentralize how sensitive data is trusted and processed, much like blockchains decentralize transactions. Our technology provides the foundation for decentralized, private data, supporting new areas like personalized AI, decentralized trading, and identity management.
We enable secure and confidential training and inference of AI models, which forms the core of secure personalized AI. Our network also acts as a confidential backend for other DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks), allowing for various physical resource networks in areas like IoT, agriculture, and supply chains. We build Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) directly into our infrastructure, letting us store sensitive and confidential data using distributed trust and Information-Theoretic Security.
Our network has three layers: a Processing Layer, a Coordination Layer, and a Connectivity Layer. The Processing Layer consists of nodes deployed with our NDK (Node Deployment Kit), forming compute clusters that distribute trust for secure data processing. The Coordination Layer is a blockchain execution environment that manages payments, requests, and network resource coordination within nodes. The Connectivity Layer connects to external systems and blockchains, extending access to our compute and storage capabilities. Each Nillion Node includes a Cryptographic Preprocessor, a Secure Resource Vault, a Coordination Interface, a Public Particle Database, a Program Library, and an Authentication and Access Control Service.
