About PayPay Corporation
We are a fintech company, established on June 15, 2018. We provide mobile and other electronic payment services. Our main product, the PayPay smartphone app, lets users pay in stores, online, and for bills. Since launching, we have grown to over 70 million users. Our goal is to be a leading QR code cashless payment service in Japan.
Our headquarters are in Tokyo, Japan. We also have sales offices throughout the country, including Yokohama, Saitama, Kashiwa, Sendai, Morioka, Sapporo, Takasaki, Niigata, Nagoya, Kanazawa, Shizuoka, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Okayama, Takamatsu, Kagoshima, and Naha. We have several related companies: PayPay Card Corporation, PayPay Bank Corporation, PayPay Securities Corporation, PayPay SC Corporation, PayPay India Pvt. Ltd., and Credit Engine Corporation.
We are registered as an issuer of prepaid payment instruments, a credit card number handler, an electric telecommunications carrier, a funds transfer service provider, a bank agency, a financial instruments intermediary, and an electronic payment agency. We are also a designated funds transfer service provider for digital wage payments.
Our PMO teams oversee engineering project portfolios, manage complex programs, and contribute to roadmap planning and execution. The Product Security team improves infrastructure and security operations using modern solutions like Kubernetes and cloud services. Our Backend Engineers develop payment systems, design high-throughput systems, and incorporate AI tools into their work, using technologies such as Java, Kotlin, and Scala. Our Technical Program Managers lead key engineering projects in Core Payments, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure/SRE to enhance architecture, performance, and scalability.

Employees receive an annual salary, with potential bonuses/incentives, and an automatic annual salary review. We support flexible work arrangements, including a hybrid workstyle with remote options, and offer commuting and remote work allowances as per policy. Our paid leave includes 14 days of annual leave in the first year (prorated) and 5 personal leave days per year, which can be used for oneself, family, or pets. We provide overtime and night shift allowances where applicable.
