About READ Foundation UK

We are a non-profit organization that provides school places and education for children living in poverty. We have run educational and welfare projects in the developing world since 1994, and the UK charity was established in 2006.

We started with 25 children and one teacher.

Today, we educate about 103,790 children, including 9,960 orphans, across 382 schools. In Pakistan alone, we support 120,000 students, employ 5,967 teachers, and care for 13,000 orphans in over 400 schools. Our operations extend to Lebanon, Yemen, TΓΌrkiye, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. We also have offices in the UK, Canada, and the USA.

Our work includes building schools, sponsoring orphans through programs like the Orphan Sponsorship Programme, and giving quality education to children who need it most. We even reach refugee camps and remote, climate-affected areas with initiatives like ‘School on a Boat’ and ‘School in a Bus’ in Lebanon. We also participate in emergency relief, providing aid for Pakistan flood victims.
