At Scale Tech(Award Winning Development Agency), we are partnering with a Scandinavian cyber security company specializing in mobile application security to find an experienced QA Automation Engineer for a fully remote freelance opportunity.
Contract - Freelance (Full-time)
Working Method - Full remote
Contract Length - Long-term.
Hourly rate - 30-35 EUR/Hour
About the role:
We’re looking for a hands-on QA Automation Engineer who takes quality seriously and isn’t afraid to speak up for it. You’ll be working closely with our development team to design, build, and maintain automated test suites across the full application stack — from browser and UI to APIs, performance, and stress testing.
This is a role for someone who is self-motivated, quality-obsessed, and comfortable working independently in a collaborative Agile environment.
What you will do:
Browser & Front-End Testing
- Perform cross-browser testing across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and others
- Validate front-end functionality, UI consistency, responsiveness, and basic accessibility requirements
- Identify and report compatibility, rendering, and performance issues using tools like Playwright or Selenium
End-to-End Testing
- Design, execute, and maintain E2E test scenarios covering complete user workflows
- Integrate automated E2E tests into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with developers
API Testing
- Create and maintain test cases for API endpoints
- Test authentication, data integrity, error handling, and response times
- Ensure correct error codes and responses are returned under all expected conditions
Performance & Stress Testing
- Execute performance tests to measure system responsiveness under load
- Design stress test scenarios to evaluate system limits and resilience under unexpected traffic spikes
- Collaborate with developers to identify and resolve bottlenecks
Troubleshooting
- Quickly reproduce and investigate issues across the stack
- Work closely with developers to resolve bugs efficiently
AI-Augmented Testing
- Leverage AI tools to improve test design, automation, troubleshooting, and overall efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience with browser testing frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, or similar)
- Solid API testing skills (Postman or equivalent)
- Experience with performance and stress testing tools (e.g. k6, JMeter)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into automated workflows
- Understanding of 3-layer application architecture
- Knowledge of SDLC and Scrum methodology
- A quality-first mindset — you notice problems others miss and aren’t afraid to raise them
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently within a team
- Comfortable using AI tools to boost productivity and test quality
