About the Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack AI Engineer (Agentic Systems, LLMOps) to design, build, and operate production-grade AI systems at Sonder. This is not a prototyping role. You’ll be responsible for building reliable, scalable AI systems that combine LLMs, retrieval, tools, and structured workflows—and ensuring they perform in real-world, safety-critical scenarios.

You’ll work across the stack—from user-facing AI experiences to backend AI services and model infrastructure—with a strong focus on:

  • Agentic system design
  • LLMOps and production reliability
  • Model serving and inference optimisation

What You’ll be Doing

  • Design and build agentic AI systems using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, Strands Agents SDK etc
  • Develop LLM-powered features such as copilots, triage systems, and decision-support tools
  • Build and optimise RAG pipelines and knowledge retrieval systems
  • Deploy and operate LLM systems in production, including monitoring, evaluation, and optimisation (LLMOps)
  • Serve and scale fine-tuned models (LoRA/PEFT) using frameworks like vLLM, TGI, or similar
  • Optimise systems for latency, cost, reliability, and scalability
  • Build across the stack, from backend AI services to frontend AI experiences
  • Prototype and productionise new AI approaches, models, and workflows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-impact AI solutions

What you will bring to the Role

  • Experience building LLM-powered applications in production
  • Strong backend engineering skills (Python, Node.js, or similar)
  • Experience with agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar)
  • Experience building RAG systems and working with vector databases
  • Understanding of agentic architectures (tool use, workflows, structured outputs)
  • Experience with LLMOps (monitoring, evaluation, prompt/version management, optimisation)
  • Familiarity with model serving frameworks (vLLM, TGI, TensorRT-LLM, etc.)
  • Experience deploying or working with fine-tuned models (LoRA/PEFT)
  • Strong understanding of performance, cost, and reliability tradeoffs in AI systems
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern DevOps practices
