About St. Joseph Center

We are a 501©(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 1976. We offer case management, mental health services, and various social programs to low-income families and homeless individuals across Los Angeles County. We help over 10,000 people each year from our locations on the Westside and in South LA.

Our services include street outreach, walk-in centers, food assistance, permanent supportive housing, rapid re-housing, therapy and mental health support, and job training programs. We also run the Bread & Roses Café, providing hot meals in a welcoming setting.

In 2024-2025, for example, we helped 2,441 individuals and families find stable housing, trained 152 people for jobs, provided over 25,000 mental health services, and served more than 46,000 meals at our café. We also work on justice diversion programs and supportive housing partnerships, like The Pointe on Vermont.
