About Catch22

We are a not-for-profit social business, founded in 1788. For over 200 years, we have designed and delivered services to build resilience and aspiration in individuals and communities. Our staff work in settings like prisons, alternative schools, colleges, and community environments, reaching over 160,000 people each year.

We provide services in justice, support for care leavers, employability, general public service delivery, and victim support. Our work covers areas such as gangs, child exploitation, substance misuse, digital skills, alternative education, vocational training, children’s social care, family services, and health and wellbeing.

For example, our Inclusion22 program supports children aged 8-17 affected by parental substance misuse. We also provide victim care for crime victims across Greater Manchester and offer employment coaching for care-experienced young people aged 18-30 through our Care Leaver’s Programme. Internally, we manage payroll and HR processing using systems like iTrent and MHR People First (HouRS), and offer strategic HR advice.

Mission & Values

We are a charity-minded organization with a social mission. Our goal is to combine frontline public service delivery with systemic change, helping people find stable housing, supportive communities, and meaningful purpose.

We prioritize safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in everything we do, including our recruitment processes. We adopt a “Ban the Box” approach for criminal convictions and follow strict safeguarding and safer recruitment practices. We’re dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture and delivering person-centered services.

Team & Culture

Catch22 employs between 1,001 and 5,000 people. We offer hybrid working, which means combining community-based travel, working from home, and office presence in locations like Brasted, Kent, and London. Some roles are outreach-based or embedded in local communities, requiring travel or flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

We encourage collaboration across our internal teams, such as People, Finance, Recruitment, Payroll, and Wellbeing, as well as with external partners and community organizations. Our employees are expected to work independently and as part of a team, balancing different tasks while upholding service standards. We support learning and development through comprehensive training and regular supervision.

Benefits & Perks

We offer 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with annual leave increasing to 33 days based on length of service. We provide a pension scheme with matching contributions of up to 4%. You’ll also have access to discounted shopping opportunities.

We support hybrid working, which typically involves a minimum of 2-3 days in our Brasted office or four days in hubs/probation offices/delivery sites, with one day remote where possible. We provide equipment for those working from home.
