About Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program

We started in 1985, one of 19 Health Care for the Homeless Programs nationally funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Pew Charitable Trust. Over the past three decades, we’ve grown into a comprehensive healthcare provider for homeless individuals and families, serving over 11,000 people last year.

We offer a wide range of services, including primary care, behavioral health care, dental services, medical respite care, street outreach, family outreach, HIV/AIDS services, substance use disorder services, hepatitis C services, and a transgender program. We also coordinate care for MassHealth Behavioral Health Community Partners enrollees, connecting individuals with mental health services, substance use treatment, primary care, and social support resources across greater Boston.
