About StarTree
We founded StarTree in 2019 to provide a managed real-time analytics platform powered by Apache Pinot. Our platform turns raw data streams (like clickstreams, logs, vector embeddings, and sensor data) into real-time analytics. We designed it for customer-facing data products, agent-facing data products, and operational intelligence.
Our founders developed Apache Pinot, an open-source software for real-time analytics at scale. It ingests massive data streams with millisecond freshness, performs sub-second aggregations, and supports tens of thousands of queries per second. Pinot also reduces infrastructure costs through optimizations like scanning less data and extreme compression. Pinot offers sub-second analytic queries with innovative indexing, continuous ingestion for fresh insights (proven at 1M events/s), high concurrency for user-facing applications, and low compute and storage costs.
We extend Apache Pinot with enterprise-grade features like enhanced security, scalability, and capabilities such as interactive queries on object storage, easier administration with autoscaling, scalable upserts, advanced data encryption, single sign-on, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance, and improved data management via a Data Portal UI. We also offer integrations with enterprise data sources like Confluent, Snowflake, and Tableau.
StarTree Cloud offers deployment options: public SaaS, Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) for dedicated infrastructure, and Bring Your Own Kubernetes (BYOK) for highly regulated environments. Companies like Uber, LinkedIn, Stripe, Target, 7Eleven, NuBank, Etsy, Walmart, and Together AI use Apache Pinot.
