Description
The Senior Financial Controller is responsible for accounting and control of our entities in Europe. This includes timely closure of the accounting period, internal controls, tax reporting, accounts filling and collaboration on various initiatives. This position will be a 7-month interim role, as maternity leave coverage.

What you will do
Manage financial month end close processes including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations.
Manage monthly payroll checks and posting in multiple jurisdictions.
Take ownership of the quality of the accounting data, internal controls and financial compliance in several European subsidiaries.
Prepare information and coordinate filling of the VAT returns.
Coordinate annual income tax return preparation and filling.
Coordinate statutory financial statement preparation.
Manage subsidiaries’ liquidity.
Support the year-end audit for the Group.
Collaborate with the local teams and wider organisation on projects with any financial insights needed both for financial planning/analytics.
Manage relationships with local accounting and tax advisors.
Take initiative in automating processes and support the implementations where needed.
Requirements
What you will need
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance/Accounting and/or professional accounting qualification
5+ years of Accounting/Controlling experience in an international environment.
Experience in a Big four is nice to have.
Strong technical skills (systems as well as excel/google sheets).
NetSuite experience is an advantage.
Strong communication skills and willingness to work as a team.
Detailed orientated self-starter with strong focus on timely and quality deliverables.
Fluent in English is required.
Hybrid working: availability to work at the office in Amsterdam three days a week.
Location
Teammates for this position are based in Amsterdam. This role will be asked to work a hybrid arrangement, with approximately 3 days per week in our office.
