Job Description
The Data & Analytics Regulatory Reporting team sits at the heart of TAL’s ambition to be a data‑driven, digitally led insurer. As part of Data Analytics & Delivery, this role helps transform complex data into trusted insights that support regulatory confidence, partner trust and informed decision‑making across the business. By enabling accurate, timely and meaningful reporting, the role contributes directly to protecting Australians’ financial wellbeing, turning data into clarity, strengthening governance, and supporting smarter outcomes for our customers, partners and communities.
In this role you will:
- Ensure trusted data governance by aligning data practices with policies, standards and regulatory expectations.
- Deliver high‑quality, reliable data that enables confident decision‑making across the business.
- Design and enable scalable data architecture that supports efficient integration, storage and access to enterprise data.
- Transform data into clear insights through intuitive dashboards, reports and visual storytelling.
- Enable actionable reporting that helps stakeholders understand performance, risks and opportunities.
- Drive timely outcomes by prioritising work effectively, applying sound judgement and continuously improving data solutions.
Qualifications
- Bring a recognised tertiary qualification in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Have solid experience (around 5 years) in data analytics and reporting roles, ideally within financial services or life insurance environments.
- Be confident using data visualisation tools, such as Power BI and/or Tableau, to create clear, engaging and high‑performing dashboards.
- Apply strong data analytics capability, including working with large datasets, data governance principles, quality standards and ethical data use.
- Understand BI and data concepts, including data modelling, report optimisation and basic use of programming languages, in particular SQL
- Communicate effectively and think critically, bringing a customer‑focused mindset, sound judgement and the ability to work autonomously with attention to detail.
