Job Description
TAL’s Senior Risk Analyst – Legal plays a vital role in strengthening the foundations that help us protect what matters for our customers. In this newly created position, you’ll help shape a confident and proactive risk culture across the Office of the Chief Governance and Compliance (OCGC), ensuring we meet our regulatory obligations and uphold the trust placed in us. By supporting key risk management activities and contributing to the successful implementation of the Financial Accountability Regime, you’ll be part of a team that enables TAL to deliver on its promise with integrity, clarity and care, making your work meaningful not just for the business, but for the people we serve every day.
In This Role You Will:
- Manage incidents, breaches and issues to ensure timely resolution and strong regulatory compliance,
- Execute the OCGC’s annual controls assessment to strengthen control effectiveness and uplift risk maturity.
- Lead the annual Risk and Controls Self‑Assessment to provide clear visibility of key risks and mitigations.
- Drive compliance with TAL’s risk frameworks, including uplift activities for CPS230, to enhance operational resilience.
- Deliver clear, insightful risk reporting that informs decision‑making across senior leadership and governance forums.
- Embed the Financial Accountability Regime by supporting accountable persons and ensuring obligations are consistently met.
- Champion a strong risk culture by guiding the OCGC team and fostering collaborative relationships across risk partners.
Qualifications
- Bring experience in risk or compliance that enables confident, practical problem‑solving.
- Understand the Australian financial services regulatory environment and how it shapes good risk practice.
- Relevant academic qualifications e.g. university degree
- Legal background or qualifications desirable, but not essential.
- Ability to communicate clearly and build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Navigate systems and tools comfortably, with a willingness to learn new technology as needed.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate.
