About the Role

As a core member of our CV & NLP team, you will play a pivotal role in building intelligent, scalable systems that power the next generation of our mobile commerce products. You will move beyond traditional models to explore multimodal architectures—blending vision and language to solve complex challenges in image search, recommendation, product tagging and catalog quality improvement. You’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to ship high-quality, well-documented work and continuously improve it through data and experimentation. This is a high-impact opportunity to translate cutting-edge research into production-level solutions that directly influence our business strategy and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Champion a Data-Driven Culture: Lead initiatives to foster a data-driven mindset across teams, ensuring that decisions are backed by robust data insights.
• Innovate with Image Data: Develop scalable Computer Vision solutions to solve real-world business challenges using advanced techniques, including multimodal approaches (e.g., vision-language models).
• Explore Cutting-Edge Techniques: Research and apply the latest developments in image similarity, object detection, segmentation, and beyond to keep us at the forefront of technology-
• Bridge Machine Learning and Business Needs: Translate complex business challenges into machine learning solutions, particularly in areas like image search, recommendation systems, and catalog/content moderation.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with business, product, and technical teams to harness the power of data for meaningful solutions that deliver measurable results.
• Synthesize Insights into Strategy: Transform data-driven insights into actionable strategies that shape our business approach.

Expected Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Computer Vision and/or NLP with a proven track record, ideally with some exposure to search, recommendation, or catalog/content moderation applications.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data analysis and model building.
• Expertise in deep learning toolkits
• Strong theoretical foundation in Computer Vision and Machine Learning, with a deep understanding of core concepts, algorithms, and principles in the domain.
• Specialization in Computer Vision: Deep expertise in image similarity, object detection, and segmentation.
• NLP Knowledge: Strong theoretical foundation in Natural Language Processing (NLP) with hands-on experience applying NLP techniques to complement multimodal approaches.
• Production-Scale Experience: Familiarity with large-scale, production-level machine learning pipelines for image processing and multimodal applications.
• Multimodal Model Knowledge: Familiarity with multimodal approaches (e.g., vision-language models) is highly desirable.
• Research Acumen: Ability to track, analyze, and implement the latest trends and research in Computer Vision and/or NLP.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication in English, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Research and development skills on deep learning products for mobile commerce and ad-tech
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience with mobile commerce or self-service business models is a big plus
