Improving economic mobility for underrepresented students through financial solutions for diverse postsecondary pathways.

About uAspire

We started in 1985 as a national nonprofit dedicated to improving economic mobility for underrepresented students. We help students find financial solutions for various postsecondary paths. Our work focuses on financial aid advising, college affordability, and FAFSA completion.

Our services include:

  • Advising: We offer in-person and virtual support to high school and college students, helping them access financial aid and navigate postsecondary systems.
  • Training: We train counselors and program staff, giving them financial aid knowledge and student-centered resources.
  • Policy: We advocate for federal, state, and institutional policy changes to improve financial aid and higher education systems, using student experiences to guide our work.
  • Consulting: We create custom solutions for partners, using our financial aid expertise, advising experience, and student-centered research.

We also offer free resources, such as our “Launching Affordable Futures: Early College & Financial Aid Readiness” workshop series for middle and high school students, and free virtual financial aid events for students and families.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to improve economic mobility for underrepresented students by increasing their access to financial aid and postsecondary pathways.

Our culture supports this mission by focusing on racial equity and meeting our staff where they are. We build authentic relationships to encourage collaboration and trust, foster growth and learning, and promote equitable opportunities through consistent practices and transparent decision-making.

Team & Culture

We are a national nonprofit with 51 to 200 employees. We are a remote-first organization, and we encourage remote work for all positions whenever possible. Our culture emphasizes racial equity, addressing systemic inequities, and creating an inclusive environment.

We build authentic relationships to support collaboration, encourage open and honest conversations, and help our team grow by providing opportunities to deepen their knowledge. We also promote equitable opportunities through consistent practices and transparent decision-making. We focus on community-building, developing our managers through ongoing training, and investing in technology and tools to support effective remote work.

Benefits & Perks

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Professional Development: We provide funds to support staff members’ growth outside of work.
