Job Description
As a Quality Assurance Specialist at Ubi Winnipeg, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of systems and/or content within your area of expertise. You’ll analyze and reassess test requirements, define and maintain test plans, and orchestrate their implementation and recurring execution with QC partners. You’ll also optimize deliverables and testing efficiency by proposing automation and adjusting test scopes to maximize impact.
What you’ll do
- Ensure the quality of deliverables within your domain.
- Define, evolve, and maintain test plans.
- Analyze test reports and provide actionable insights.
- Propose and coordinate automation for test plan implementation and recurring execution.
- Promote quality and maintain strong collaboration with key stakeholders (e.g., PMs, Programmers, Designers).
- Act as the project reference for quality management in your area.
- Challenge established validation guidelines when necessary.
- Actively contribute to the evolution of QA practices.
Qualifications
What you bring to the team
- Strong quality orientation and attention to detail.
- Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Xray).
- Familiarity with Windows OS (Win10) and consoles (Xbox, PlayStation).
- Rigorous, methodical, proactive, and resourceful approach.
- Ability to provide qualitative feedback.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Highly collaborative, empathetic, and innovative mindset.
- Strong understanding of the development process and a passion for video games.
Nice to have:
- Ability to write clear and structured scripts with performance, maintenance, scalability, and compatibility in mind.
- Knowledge of game engine editors (Unreal, Unity, etc.).
- Understanding of level design processes and methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of online networking.
- Familiarity with agile practices.
Education:
- College degree (DEC) in Computer Science or equivalent education.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in quality assurance or related experience (troubleshooting, testing).
