About Urban Grid

We are an independent power producer (IPP) that develops, owns, and operates utility-scale solar and storage solutions. From our Houston, Texas headquarters, we operate in 13 states, aiming to meet energy demand across the U.S.

Since becoming an IPP in 2023, we’ve brought five solar projects online, started construction on three, and are moving one gigawatt into pre-construction. Our portfolio includes 12,000 megawatts of development assets, with over 10 GWac of PV and 2.4 GWac storage projects underway.

We integrate agrivoltaics into our land management practices, supporting soil health, local farmers, and communities. We also offer the option to co-locate with battery storage based on customer demand. For example, we developed, constructed, own, and operate the 65 MW Crystal Hill Solar facility, an agrivoltaic project in Halifax County, Virginia. We are a portfolio company of Brookfield.

Our specialties include solar project development, utility-scale solar, utility-scale storage, and agrivoltaics. Our team includes transmission and interconnection professionals from utilities and RTOs, who use advanced engineering tools. We partner with national and state organizations like American Clean Power, PJM, and SEIA. We also work with landowners, elected officials, community members, utility planners, business leaders, and policymakers.
