Job Description

We develop, own and operate projects that strengthen local economies through long-term partnerships and responsible land stewardship. By integrating agrivoltaics into our land management practices, we enhance soil health, support local farmers and benefit the communities we serve.

With a strong focus on execution and integrity, we are committed to being a trusted domestic energy provider and responsible corporate citizen. Urban Grid is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and operates across the United States with a growing portfolio that includes 12,000 megawatts of development assets.  We continue to maintain our optionality to co-locate with battery storage based on customer demand, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness in our energy solutions.

Since becoming an IPP in 2023, we have successfully brought five solar projects online, begun construction on three additional projects and are actively advancing one gigawatt of capacity into pre-construction. To learn more, please visit www.UrbanGridSolar.com.

  • Develop and execute portfolio and asset-level strategies covering operational performance, commercial optimization, financial planning, risk mitigation, lifecycle management, and long-term value creation.

  • Serve as the senior asset management point of contact for material operating events, contractual disputes, stakeholder concerns, claims, compliance gaps, and other matters requiring coordinated decision-making.

  • Direct annual budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cash planning, and financial performance reporting for assigned assets; identify risks and opportunities and develop actionable recommendations.

  • Own timely, accurate, and decision-useful internal, investor, lender, regulatory, and contractual reporting for the assigned portfolio.

  • Monitor insurance requirements and lead coordination of claims, loss documentation, recovery strategy, and stakeholder communications.

  • Support sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and administration of O&M and other operating service agreements, from request for proposal through contract execution and ongoing performance management.

  • Lead the asset management workstream for construction-to-operations handover, including operational readiness, care, custody and control transfer, contract and permit turnover, training, warranty readiness, data access, and issue closure.

  • Visit project sites to assess facility condition, verify vendor safety and operating practices, review performance issues, and support troubleshooting and improvement initiatives.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned in support of portfolio and company objectives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, business, energy, or a related discipline; advanced degree is preferred.

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in renewable energy asset management, power generation, project finance, operations, or a related field, including responsibility for utility-scale operating assets.

  • Demonstrated success managing a portfolio of complex assets, leading cross-functional initiatives, and resolving material operational, commercial, financial, and contractual issues.

  • Proven leadership and stakeholder-management capability, including the ability to coach others, influence senior and technical stakeholders, establish accountability, and lead through ambiguity.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational and financial data, assess risk, develop recommendations, and drive issues to closure.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex matters clearly and concisely to internal and external audiences.

  • Strong project and portfolio management skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands, manage critical deadlines, and maintain disciplined follow-through.

  • High degree of ownership, integrity, judgment, organizational discipline, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with asset performance, enterprise reporting, or business intelligence platforms is preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record sufficient to support required travel and company operations.

  • Location: Hybrid in Houston, Texas (4 days in office, Fridays remote).

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Visa sponsorship or transfer visas, including H-1B or L-2, are not available for this position.
