Job Description
Our client is an Australian accounting firm that offers a holistic, client-first approach to business advisory, taxation, and financial planning, serving a diverse client base from start-ups to ASX-listed companies.
They’re looking for a skilled Australian Tax Accountant who can handle end-to-end tax and compliance tasks. You will work closely with the team to prepare tax returns, manage BAS/IAS lodgments, and provide accurate financial reporting for Australian clients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and lodge Individual, Partnership, Company, and Trust tax returns
Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and FBT
Reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with ATO requirements
Review financial statements and ensure accuracy of reporting
Assist in tax planning and identifying potential tax-saving opportunities
Communicate with the ATO regarding notices, follow-ups, and assessments
Work collaboratively with the client’s accounting team and maintain strong client communication
2-3 years of experience working with Australian accounting or taxation
Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws and ATO compliance
Experience using Australian accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, HandiTax, Xero Tax)
Solid understanding of BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, and financial reporting
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong English communication skills
