Job Description
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific (AUNZPI) is Visa’s advisory division, working with Visa’s clients (including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants) on a broad range of key business initiatives including strategy, operational optimisation, customer engagement and overall business profitability.
VCA is made up of three services lines - Advisory, Data Science and Implementation Services, the latter being the execution arm of VCA. Our Implementation Services teams (also known as squads) are embedded on client sites to lead long-term engagements and deliver value through execution and delivery. While focused on client objectives, these teams remain closely connected to the broader VCA network, sharing knowledge and bringing the best of Visa to our clients.
We are looking for a Manager for the role of Business Analyst, embedded with one of our valued clients based in Wellington or Auckland. This role, offered as a fixed-term contract for 12 months, will work closely with the lead Business Analyst Payments to develop and deliver the Card Scheme and Payments Industry compliance plans within agreed timeframes.
Location flexible: Auckland or Wellington.
Role Summary:
The Business Analyst (Payments Compliance) will play a critical role in supporting Visa’s partnership with a major banking client by ensuring compliance with Card Scheme and Payments Industry standards. This role involves analysing complex regulatory requirements, supporting the development and delivery of compliance plans, and collaborating with stakeholders to maintain the integrity of the payments ecosystem. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills with the ability to translate compliance obligations into actionable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the lead Business Analyst Payments in developing and delivering Card Scheme and Payments Industry compliance plans.
- Analyse and interpret compliance requirements, ensuring alignment with client and industry standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate data, and track progress.
- Prepare clear documentation, reports, and insights to support decision-making and regulatory adherence.
- Contribute to risk identification and remediation activities.

Qualifications
Key Requirements:
Analytical Expertise: Ability to interpret complex regulations, perform gap analysis, and provide practical recommendations.
Technical Proficiency: Moderate/Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis; ability to work with large datasets to identify trends and anomalies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, risk, and business units.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and structured approach to resolving compliance challenges.
Delivery Focus: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in banking or financial services, particularly within regulatory and compliance roles, with knowledge of card scheme rules and/or payments industry compliance frameworks.
Exposure to risk management and operational compliance initiatives.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Risk, or related discipline.
Professional certifications in compliance, risk, or business analysis are advantageous.
