Job Description
Visa is seeking a bold, future-forward Senior Director to redefine how our brand shows up across Asia Pacific. This role is for a builder — someone obsessed with where culture, creativity, data and technology collide. You will lead Visa’s strategy across media, social, creators, content, digital innovation and first-party data, ensuring the brand becomes more culturally resonant, more socially native, and more meaningfully embedded into the everyday lives of consumers and businesses.
You will orchestrate a multi-disciplinary team of experts and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, agencies, marketers, and platforms to deliver work that inspires behaviour change, deepens brand relevance, accelerates Visa’s data and digital maturity, and drives commercial impact across a complex, diverse region.
What a Senior Director – Media, Content and Digital Innovation does at Visa:
You will shape how millions of consumers across Asia Pacific experience the Visa brand. This role sits at the intersection of culture, creativity and technology - inspiring breakthrough media, content and digital experiences that make Visa more engaging, more relevant and more useful in people’s everyday lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand, Media and Content Leadership:
- Set the overarching vision for Visa’s media, content, and digital communication ecosystem across APAC.
- Lead the development of breakthrough, culturally attuned, socially powered campaigns across B2C, B2B and B2B2C audiences.
- Forge strategic alliances with market-making platforms e.g., TikTok, Meta, YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, Google, LinkedIn to unlock new forms of co-creation, commerce, and community engagement.
- Establish investment principles and regional standards to ensure Visa shows up consistently, boldly and with purpose across markets.
Social-First Strategy, Creator Innovation and Community Building:
- Architect Visa’s first unified regional social-first strategy, designed to elevate brand voice, drive always-on cultural relevance, and strengthen platform-native storytelling.
- Transform Visa’s social presence from content distribution to community creation - building spaces where audiences participate, contribute and co-create.
- Design a differentiated creator and influencer ecosystem, spanning passion pillars sports, music, gaming, fashion, lifestyle, aimed at scaling advocacy and social commerce.
- Introduce next-gen social formats, real-time content engines, and playbooks that empower markets to create faster, smarter and with greater agility.
- Champion community-first thinking across the region, ensuring Visa’s products and experiences show up authentically in culture.
First-Party Data Leadership and Data-Driven Marketing:
- Accelerate Visa’s first-party data journey, building the foundation for a modern, privacy-safe, insight-driven marketing ecosystem
- Partner with regional and global teams to evolve Visa’s data architecture - integrating CRM, consent management, identity frameworks, and audience platforms into a cohesive, scalable system
- Develop audience segmentation models that fuel personalization, dynamic creative optimization DCO, and full-funnel measurement
- Expand the use of predictive modelling, advanced analytics, and AI-driven insights to inform creative decisions, media planning, and go-to-market strategy
- Strengthen Visa’s ability to activate first-party data across paid, owned and earned channels - driving more efficient media, deeper engagement, and measurable business outcomes
Go-to-market and Creative Excellence:
- Lead an integrated team of specialists to deliver cross-market, social-first, digital-powered campaigns that push creative boundaries.
- Build scalable storytelling frameworks for Visa’s passion pillars - from FIFA and the Olympics to music, gaming, fashion and travel - ensuring regional coherence and local relevance.
- Elevate Visa’s creative capabilities through AI-powered content production, dynamic formats, and modular content systems
Marketing Services Growth and Commercial Deliver:
- Partner with client marketing teams to elevate and expand adoption of Visa’s in-house media and content capabilities.
- Shape the development of new service offerings that drive value to partners and growth for Visa.
- Provide strategic leadership on operational frameworks that improve consistency and efficiency across markets.
Stakeholder Engagement, Thought Leadership and Operational Excellence:
- Lead, mentor and inspire a multi-disciplinary team across media, social, content and data - building a future-ready centre of excellence.
- Represent Visa as a thought leader in industry forums, senior leadership discussions and partner ecosystems.
- Champion continuous learning, experimentation and innovation to elevate marketing excellence across the region.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
- 15+ years in media, digital marketing, integrated brand marketing, or digital innovation in regional/global roles.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-market marketing strategies across Asia
- Experience leading diverse cross-functional teams spanning media, social, creators, and digital capability.
- Strong expertise in brand building, performance marketing, social platforms, digital media planning and creator ecosystems.
- Strengths in strategy, storytelling, and ideation with the ability to turn complexity into clarity.
- Exceptional leadership, collaboration and communication skills, strong executive presence.
- Ability to bridge technical understanding with business impact and simplify complex ideas into compelling narratives.
- Preferred:
- Experience in payments, fintech, technology, lifestyle, culture or platform ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of GenAI, digital production, and emerging martech.
- Experience in commercializing services or building in-housing models.
