Job Description
Role: Research Operations Manager
Hourly Rate: $65
Hours: 20 hours/week
Duration: Three months with opportunity to extend based on need.
Location: Remote
We are looking for a Research Operations Manager to provide hands-on research operations support for our Consumer Insights & Strategy team. This is an exciting time to join the growing collectibles space. This role will own the full participant lifecycle for our ongoing qualitative and quantitative research, working closely with our researchers to keep studies moving and our customer panel healthy.
We need someone who has done this before, ideally at more than one organization, and who can walk in and immediately take ownership of recruiting, panel management, platform evaluation, and vendor/budget administration without a long ramp-up.
What You’ll Do
- Panel Management: Manage panel outreach for our existing customer base, including tracking and reporting on outreach volume so we always know how much we’re asking of our customers and when.
- Participant Recruitment: Recruit and coordinate customer participation in research studies, including all pre-session administration and tech checks, so every session starts on time and ready to go.
- Platform Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend qualitative research platforms to support and expand the team’s research capabilities.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Own vendor management end to end, including NDAs, RFPs, and SOWs, and support budget tracking for research tools and outside partners.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with the Consumer Insights & Strategy team to ensure successful execution of studies, from kickoff through fieldwork.
- Records & Reporting: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of participant outreach and engagement history to inform future research and avoid over-surveying the same customers.
Qualifications
Who You Are
- Experienced Research Ops Manager: 8+ years of experience in research operations.
- You’ve owned the full participant lifecycle before, ideally across more than one organization or team, and know where the friction points are before they happen.
- Platform-Fluent: Comfortable across a broad set of research and recruiting tools (e.g., UserTesting, Alchemer, UserInterviews, dScout, Calendly, etc), and confident evaluating and recommending new ones.
- Vendor & Budget Savvy: Experience owning NDAs, RFPs, and SOWs, and managing budgets and contracts with outside research vendors and platforms.
- Comfortable at Pace: You can run multiple concurrent workstreams and studies without dropping the details, and you bring structure to ambiguity rather than waiting for it to be handed to you.
- Collaborative Partner: You build trust quickly with researchers and customers alike, and you’re known as responsive and reliable under deadline pressure.
