Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented CPA with a background in the advertising or digital marketing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of GAAP and be excited to take ownership of key areas of the accounting process in a fast-paced, creative environment.
As an Accountant, you will report directly to the VP, Corporate Controller, and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities. This role requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of GAAP, as you’ll support accurate financial reporting and help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Prepare and post journal entries for routine and non-routine transactions
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures
Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
Ensure accurate classification and recording of revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities
Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations to management
Assist in preparing internal financial statements and supporting schedules
Maintain documentation and audit trails for journal entries and account reconciliations
Support internal and external audit processes, including providing schedules and explanations
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and FinOps teams to ensure proper coding and transaction completeness
Review and maintain accruals, deferrals, and prepaid expenses
Monitor compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Participate in system upgrades, testing, and process improvement initiatives
Support ad hoc financial projects, reports, and analyses as requested by management
Things That Should Be in Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
3–5 years of relevant work experience
CPA designation preferred
Strong technical research skills and accounting knowledge
Solid understanding of US GAAP
Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in all MS Office applications; strong knowledge of Excel required
