Description

**This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client located in the southwestern suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. The role requires a minimum of two in-office days per week. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.**

We’re seeking a hands-on, technically proficient Manager of Data & Analytics to lead and build foundational data capabilities. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys staying close to the technology, has experience leading small teams or projects, and thrives in an environment that requires both strategic thinking and day-to-day execution.

As the first dedicated data leader, you will take full ownership of building scalable data infrastructure, leading analytics initiatives, and delivering impactful insights across the organization. This role offers a clear path to grow into a broader leadership position, with opportunities to shape strategy, build a small internal team, and collaborate with external partners when needed. You will be joining a collaborative and close-knit culture where employee tenure is strong, reflecting a workplace that values trust, impact, and long-term commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable data pipelines, models, and analytics solutions—this is a highly hands-on role.

  • Develop and execute a pragmatic data and analytics roadmap that aligns with business goals.

  • Own data modeling, warehousing, and system integration, ensuring solutions are maintainable and extensible.

  • Create and communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.

  • Work cross-functionally with IT, operations, finance, and other departments to embed data into core workflows.

  • Establish standards for data integrity, security, and compliance.

  • Support the future hiring and development of a small internal team and help develop relationships with external partners.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data and analytics, including work as a lead, architect, or manager in a hands-on capacity.

  • Strong foundation in data architecture, data modeling, and analytics platforms (cloud-based tools, data warehouses, visualization tools).

  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences; comfortable presenting to leadership.

  • Experience delivering in lean or mid-sized environments with limited resources.

  • Strong project ownership mindset, from vision to execution.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree is a plus.
