Job description
EvenUp is on a mission to close the justice gap using technology and AI. We empower personal injury lawyers and victims to get the justice they deserve. Our products enable law firms to secure faster settlements, higher payouts, and better outcomes for victims injured through no fault of their own in vehicle collisions, accidents, natural disasters, and more.
We are one of the fastest-growing vertical SaaS companies in history, and we are just getting started. EvenUp is backed by top VCs, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, SignalFire, and Lightspeed. We are looking to expand our team with talented, driven, and collaborative individuals who seek to have a lasting impact. Learn more at www.evenuplaw.com.
This role reports to the General Counsel, and while the focus is on privacy, data security, and tech transactions, this is a true tech generalist position at a well-funded and well-regarded startup at the heart of the AI revolution in Legal Tech. You’ll have broad scope and opportunity to impact key components of the business as it scales. This is a rare, career-inflection-point moment that will look radically different from a traditional big firm or big tech practice.
This is a remote role that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
What we look for:
The best candidates will have deep experience with (a) domestic data security and privacy laws, particularly in connection with protected health and other sensitive personal information, and (b) a well-grounded background in technology transactions, including enterprise software agreements and other technology vendor agreements. The best of the best will also be able to contribute outside of their core areas of expertise.
J.D. from a top school and bar member in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction;
4-8 years experience, likely in Big Law and ideally with in-house experience;
A client portfolio with meaningful overlaps to components of EvenUp’s business (e.g., enterprise software, AI, health records, privileged records, insurance, legal tech, etc.);
Intrinsic motivation to perform at a high level and to win.
