About Code.org
Code.org is an education nonprofit founded in 2012 by Hadi and Ali Partovi. We work to ensure every student in every school learns about artificial intelligence (AI) and computer science (CS) in their K-12 education.
We provide free K-12 curriculum, hands-on projects, and teacher professional development. Educators don’t need prior experience. Our curriculum covers topics such as AI Foundations for high school, How AI Makes Decisions for grades 3-5, Coding with AI for grades 6-12, AI for Oceans for grades 3-12, Generative AI for Humanities for grades 6-12, and Societal Impact of Generative AI for grades 7-12. We also produce video series like “How AI Works” and “Exploring Generative AI.”
We organize the annual Hour of AI campaign, building on the Hour of Code. We work with policymakers to integrate AI+CS education into K-12 curriculum, influencing policy across all 50 U.S. states. Our curriculum is used in over 2 million classrooms across the U.S. As a nonprofit, our work is free to schools and supported by donors and partners.
We have supported 107M student accounts, served 1.94B Hours of Code/Hours of AI, and supported 3M teachers in 190 countries. We specifically aim to increase participation among young women and students from underrepresented racial/ethnic groups (50%) and those from Title I or free and reduced lunch backgrounds (45%).

We offer comprehensive health benefits for employees and their families. Medical, dental, and vision premiums are 100% paid for full-time positions and dependents.
Employees receive 5 weeks of paid time off annually, which includes 3 weeks of vacation and a 2-week winter break office closure. This is in addition to sick leave.
