Senior Social Media Strategist

💰 $101k-$113k

Job Description

COMPANY PROFILE

CodeAI is an education innovation nonprofit dedicated to the vision that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn about artificial intelligence (AI) and computer science (CS) as part of their core K-12 education. We increase participation in AI+CS education by reaching students of all backgrounds where they are — at their skill level, in their schools, and in ways that inspire them to keep learning, with a focus on increasing participation by young women and students from other underrepresented groups. The leading provider of K-12 AI+CS education curriculum across the globe, CodeAI also organizes the annual Hour of AI campaign, building on the legacy of the Hour of Code, which has engaged more than 15% of all students in the world!

A unifying approach in a divided world

CodeAI’s global role in the K-12 computer science movement is only possible because we use a unifying approach across diverse and often divided stakeholders. At a time of increasing polarization, the idea of increasing opportunity for students unites people from across the political spectrum. CodeAI’s team members, students, teachers, and supporters have diverse and diverging view points, and they are all welcome in our mission. Read more.

JOB SUMMARY

CodeAI is looking for a strategic, creative Senior Social Media Strategist to lead our social media efforts. You’ll be the voice of CodeAI across our platforms, shaping content, growing engagement, and connecting with the educators, students, parents, and advocates who believe in preparing every student to thrive in a world reshaped by AI.

In this role you’ll set the strategy, run the content, and turn performance into your next move, building a best-in-class social presence for a mission that unites people across the spectrum.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

Strategy & Planning

  • Build the channel-specific playbooks, policies, and content plans that align our social presence with CodeAI’s marketing and mission goals.
  • Run “always on” cross-channel content calendars, blending original and curated content tailored to each platform and audience.
  • Keep us current and effective by tracking emerging trends, platform changes, and shifts in audience behavior, and folding what matters into our evolving strategy.
  • Lead and collaborate with an agency to sharpen strategic thinking and drive strong execution.

Community Engagement

  • Grow CodeAI’s online community through authentic conversations, timely responses, and proactive engagement — initiating discussions, responding to comments, escalating issues, and keeping the space positive.
  • Amplify executive presence and thought leadership at conferences, keynotes, and high-visibility events through strategic social coverage.
  • Develop and execute promotion for livestreams, webinars, workshops, and other live events — from pre-event buzz to live coverage to post-event recaps.

Partnerships & Collaboration

  • Identify, build, and nurture relationships with influencers, partners, organizations, and community groups to expand our reach and engagement.
  • Partner with designers, copywriters, and other in-house creators to produce engaging multimedia content.
  • Work with advertising and PR leads to advise on social advertising, influencer relations, and other opportunities to amplify our outreach.

Measurement & Insights

  • Partner with the Marketing Analytics team to translate platform analytics into clear insights and action.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

We seek candidates who have:

  • 8+ years leading large online communities, with a portfolio of channels you’ve grown and the engagement to show for it.
  • A proven track record building and running cross-channel content calendars that balance original and curated content across audiences.
  • Fluency with social media platforms and the management and analytics tools that run them.
  • A real, current interest in AI and computer science. You follow where the technology is going and can turn it into content that’s credible to both educators and technical audiences without overselling what the technology can do.
  • Sharp written and verbal communication and strong presentation skills — you can make a point land with an executive audience and a comment thread alike.
  • A track record of collaborating effectively across internal teams and with external partners and agencies.
  • [Bonus] Experience managing influencer engagement, social ads, or live events.

In addition, candidates must:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Work within the continental United States
  • Pass a pre-employment background check
  • Be willing to travel a minimum of two times per year for team events
