Job Description
This role is perfect for someone early in their HR career who loves details, enjoys helping People, and wants to build a strong foundation across payroll, benefits, and HR operations—while having some fun along the way. Our current hybrid approach is working in-office Monday – Thursday, with the option to work from home on Friday.
The Role (Why You’ll Love It)
As our Payroll & Benefits Coordinator, you’ll be the friendly front line for employee questions and the steady hand behind the scenes. You’ll support our Payroll & Benefit managers, making sure People are paid correctly, on time, and enrolled in benefits that work for them. You’ll also partner closely with HRBPs, Recruiters, IT, and external vendors to keep our employee experience running smoothly—across the U.S. and internationally.
This role has great exposure to global payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and HR systems.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & HR Operations
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the HR team
- Process new hires, terminations, and employee data updates accurately and on time
- Maintain employee records and documentation in HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
- Assist the Payroll Manager with preparation of U.S. bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and global monthly payrolls, and serving as backup payroll processor
- Support payroll audits, reconciliations, and validation checks as needed
- Assist with payroll-related compliance items such as wage garnishments, employment verifications, and audit requests
- Support year-end payroll activities (W-2s, international equivalents, system audits)
Benefits Administration
- Act as Tier 1 support for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and HR processes
- Assist with benefits administration including new hire enrollment, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and terminations
- Partner with internal teams and third-party vendors to troubleshoot benefit file feeds, manual uploads, and eligibility issues
- Support wellness, health, and employee benefits programs
- Assist Benefit Manager as needed with leave administration coordination in partnership with vendors and HRBPs
Employee Experience & Enablement
- Deliver legendary customer service to employees—responsive, accurate, and empathetic
- Host bi-weekly new hire orientation sessions covering HR systems, payroll, and benefits
- Manage Cricut Central (internal employee portal), ensuring HR content, resources, and updates stay fresh and accurate
- Partner closely with IT to support employee system access and login troubleshooting
- Support employee recognition and engagement programs
Compliance, Training & Continuous Improvement
- Manage new hire and annual compliance training assignments
- Follow established procedures, checklists, and controls—while also helping improve them
- Partner on internal and external reporting and audit requests
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve employee communications, and enhance the payroll & benefits experience
Qualifications
What You Bring
- 2–4 years of experience in payroll, benefits, HR operations—or a combination
- Experience with UKG software strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of U.S. payroll and benefits fundamentals; exposure to global payroll is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and follow-through skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and shifting needs with limited supervision
- Clear, effective written and verbal communication skills
- Curious, hungry, flexible, and eager to learn
- A continuous improvement mindset—you’re always looking for a better way
Bonus Points
- Experience supporting audits, payroll reconciliations, or benefits file feeds
- Familiarity with compliance concepts (e.g., ACA, wage & hour basics, data privacy)
