About the Role (your why)
The Programme Manager is responsible for coordinating all aspects of a programme, from inception to installation. This role involves ensuring preparation/completion of large to medium inter-related projects to appropriate quality standards within time/cost constraints as well as meeting contractual requirements and company budget requirements. The Programme Manager is responsible for the establishment and management of ongoing delivery outcomes under a programme of work and prioritise all projects within it
This role is based in Adelaide. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!
What you’ll do
- Ensure the program delivers uptime, performance, security, and cost objectives that support the organisation’s goals
- Establish the governance structure, scope, success criteria
- Coordinate multiple related projects and ensure integrated delivery
- Translate infra strategy into a sequence of projects with clear timelines
- Define escalation paths, technical review cadences, change approval processes (CAB), and vendor management governance
- Manage scope with formal change control; maintain RAID logs focused on infrastructure risks (capacity, dependencies, supply chain)
- Manage dependencies between multiple projects (e.g., network upgrades, server/storage builds, virtualization, security controls) and operations readiness
- Provide regular status updates, risk dashboards, capacity reports, and executive summaries focusing on uptime, cost, and risk posture
- Maintain RAID register and assign risk owners, track mitigations, and escalate critical issues
- Enforce governance standards, change control, risk management process and regulatory/compliance requirements within programs
- Quantify improvements in uptime, latency, capacity headroom, automation, and cost reductions
- Document lessons learned, transition to steady-state operations, and ensure benefits are realised
- Foster collaboration among team and drive alignment across line of businesses
- Lead with high emotional intelligence in interactions with team members, clients, and stakeholders
- Build and maintain a roadmap showing sequencing, timing and dependencies
- Deliver accurate and up-to-date status on programs to inform portfolio-level decisions
- Collaborate with leadership to drive strategic initiatives and communicate operational objectives effectively
- Foster a health and safety culture that prioritises employee well-being and ensures that all incidents and hazards are reported per Datacom policy, making our team members feel secure and valued
What you’ll bring
Required experience:
- Strong client/customer focus with proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills with sharp attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-pressure environment
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and negotiation skills
- Proven record of delivering programs (leading multiple related projects, benefit realisation, governance) for several years
- Experience supporting Sales and Presales teams with bid responses, SOWs and project variations
- To be able to obtain baseline clearance or NV1, you will need to be an Australian Citizen
Nice to have:
- Experience working in a variety of industries or program/project environments
- Relevant program and project management qualifications or certifications (e.g. PgMP, MSP, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile)
