About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Architect with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale data and AI platforms. You will be responsible for architecting cloud infrastructure that supports complex data engineering and machine learning workloads across global organizations. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, and enterprise system design who is ready to take on a strategic leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect enterprise-scale GCP infrastructure and data platforms supporting hundreds of engineers and multiple global regions
  • Lead cloud strategy development including multi-cloud roadmaps, landing zones, VPC design, and security architecture
  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for repeatable, version-controlled, and compliant cloud deployments
  • Architect and manage data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time analytics platforms integrating diverse data sources
  • Design and implement Kubernetes-based containerized solutions on GKE with advanced networking and CI/CD integration
  • Establish and enforce security, compliance, and governance standards across cloud infrastructure (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001)
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for optimal cost and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, engineers, product leaders) to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and drive innovation initiatives (Vertex AI, Dataplex, GenAI integration)
  • Mentor junior architects and engineers; establish best practices and architecture standards across teams

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of enterprise IT and cloud architecture experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing GCP infrastructure at enterprise scale
  • Deep expertise with GCP services including Compute (GKE, Cloud Run), Storage (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataplex), Data (Pub/Sub), and AI/ML (Vertex AI)
  • Advanced proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager)
  • Expert-level knowledge of cloud networking, security, and identity management (VPC, IAM, Cloud KMS, VPN, firewalls)
  • Proven experience architecting data platforms, data lakes, and analytics solutions
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration (GKE)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting language
  • Knowledge of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC 2)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Fluent English both oral and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Google Cloud Professional certifications (Architect, Security Engineer, Network Engineer)
  • Experience with AWS and multi-cloud architectures
  • Experience with generative AI and LLM integration
