Role type: Full-time, fully remote

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST

Salary: $1,000-1,200 USD/month

Position Overview:

The client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Staff Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting to the Senior Staff Accountant, the Junior Staff Accountant will play a critical role in managing and reconciling financial transactions for almost 200 restaurant chain operations.

This position involves overseeing reconciliations for cash, credit cards, third-party delivery services (e.g., UberEats, DoorDash, GrubHub), and franchisor statements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cash Management:

  • Conduct daily cash audits for both SM and OPCO operations.
  • Communicate with store team members regarding discrepancies, ensuring timely follow-up for resolutions.
  • Troubleshoot Loomis safe issues.

2. Credit Card Reconciliation:

  • Prepare credit card integration for SM and OPCO.
  • Reconcile SM credit card transactions using reports from First Data.
  • Analyze chargebacks in First Data and maintain an up-to-date Excel spreadsheet to track discrepancies.

3. Delivery Services (UberEats, DoorDash, GrubHub):

  • Prepare and reconcile delivery receivables weekly to ensure accurate funds are received for all participating stores.

4. Franchisor Reporting (RBI & Yum!):

  • Prepare and submit weekly sales reports.
  • Analyze reports to ensure RBI and Yum! payments are accurate, free of duplicate charges, and processed correctly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of accounting or finance experience (experience in the food and beverage or retail industry is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to maintain and analyze complex spreadsheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains  and third-party delivery service platforms

  • Familiarity with month close and journal entries

  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting financial discrepancies.

  • Client Relationship : You will be directly working with the client. This means that you will communicate with the client, provide services, and address any client-related matters independently.

  • Payments : All payments for your services will be handled by the client. Elevate and Delegate is not involved in processing your payroll. Your salary will directly go to you.

  • Vacation Leaves and Holidays : While we may have recommendations or guidelines regarding vacation leaves and holidays, the decision is entirely at the discretion of the client. You are expected to align your schedule with the client’s business needs and any specific policies or preferences they may have in this regard.
