Job Description
Job description
Lead Experian’s platform engineering modernization by unifying global engineering practices through automation and self‑service, not mandates. Architect and scale an Automated Service Catalog that delivers standardized, lifecycle‑managed services via a frictionless, “path of least resistance” experience for engineers across LATAM, North America, UK&I, and EMAP.
Why This Role Matters
By replacing human‑gated, manual processes with a globally consistent self‑service ecosystem, you will:
- Accelerate delivery and increase developer velocity
- Improve quality and reliability across regions
- Reduce cost and operational risk through standardization
- Strengthen security via embedded guardrails
- Empower engineers and build a unified, modern engineering culture
You will architect the next generation of how Experian builds and delivers technology. You will report to the EVP of Global Technology Operations. This is a remote position.
What You’ll Do
Lead Through Ambiguity & Scale
- Convert a conceptual global vision into a clear strategy, roadmap, operating model, and governance adopted across regions.
- Operate effectively amid “white space,” competing priorities, and incomplete information.
Build & Operate the Global Automated Service Catalog
- Design and launch a one‑click self‑service catalog for standardized, API‑driven services (DevSecOps, CI/CD, cloud, platform, observability, infrastructure, security).
- Apply AI/agentic automation to decisioning (changes, deployments, approvals, ITSM flows) to convert days/weeks into minutes.
Democratize Automation
- Establish a federated contribution model for developers globally to publish, validate, and reuse automations.
- Define standards, quality bars, and validation pipelines to ensure reliability and reuse.
Drive Cross‑Functional Alignment
- Partner with Security, Cloud, Engineering, Architecture, Data, and Product to simplify architectures and unify standards that can be automated.
- Overcome local autonomy resistance by demonstrating speed, quality, and empowerment gains through self‑service.
Deliver Business Value (Not Just Artifacts)
- Build continuous feedback loops with engineering teams; iterate for measurable outcomes.
- Track and communicate value via transparent KPIs.
Improve Security & Reduce Risk
- Eliminate tool sprawl/misconfigurations through consistent, automated services.
- Embed compliance, security, and quality directly into workflows in partnership with Information Security.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 10+ years in engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, or similar technical leadership roles.
- Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and create clarity in complex global environments.
- Experience converting strategy and vision into products & platforms with high adoption rates.
- Experience in leveraging AI to build developer self‑service portals, automation platforms, internal service catalogs, and/or platform engineering functions.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD, and modern DevSecOps.
- Exceptional communication and influence skills across technical and executive stakeholders.
- Experience driving organizational change in federated or decentralized engineering cultures.
