Job description

As a Team Lead of IT, you will own and drive our corporate IT operations and AI enablement function in a high-impact player-coach role. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a high-performing team (System Administrator, IAM/Automation Engineer, and GRC Analyst) while remaining deeply involved in execution. You will ensure our 130+ employees have world-class infrastructure and act as the driving force behind AI adoption, evaluating new tools and governing AI usage to ensure we stay ahead of the curve as AI reshapes the SaaS landscape.

What you can expect

  • Hands-on IT Leadership: Lead a team of three to deliver reliable IT operations across macOS and Windows for 130+ employees, managing everything from dual-OS MDM to hardware lifecycles and office infrastructure in Stuttgart and Berlin.
  • AI Tooling & Enablement: Act as the company’s AI champion. Identify, evaluate, and rollout AI capabilities, maintain the AI tool inventory, and define usage policies to enable fast, safe adoption across all departments.
  • Identity & SaaS Governance: Own Entra ID (Azure AD) administration, identity lifecycles, and SSO configurations. Manage a stack of 30+ SaaS vendors, handling procurement, renewals, and licensing.
  • Operational Excellence: Overhaul onboarding/offboarding processes, manage Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments, and ensure robust backups and first-level support for our global team.
  • Automation & Security: Work with your IAM/Automation Engineer to drive AI-powered automation within IT and oversee Information Security across the entire company.
  • Strategic Scaling: Manage the IT budget and KPIs while providing consulting support to other departments on tooling decisions and process automation.

What you bring to the table

We’re looking for a proactive leader who balances strategic thinking with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude.

Must Haves:

  • Proven Experience: 5–8 years in IT operations or leadership, with at least 1–2 years leading or coordinating a team.
  • Technical Mastery: Hands-on experience with Entra ID, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and MDM platforms (Jamf, Intune, etc.).
  • AI Fluency: A genuine enthusiasm for AI tools and automation, with the ability to translate technical possibilities into business value.
  • Vendor & Procurement Savvy: Experience managing SaaS sprawl, negotiating contracts, and handling vendor onboarding.
  • Language Skills: Excellent communication skills in both English & German (business fluent).

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in a B2B SaaS start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Familiarity with automation platforms (Power Automate, Zapier, n8n) and scripting.
  • Experience managing IT for 100–300 employees across multiple physical offices.
