Job Description

Heartflow is a medical technology company advancing the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease, the #1 cause of death worldwide, using cutting-edge technology. The flagship product—an AI-driven, non-invasive cardiac test supported by the ACC/AHA Chest Pain Guidelines called the Heartflow FFRCT Analysis—provides a color-coded, 3D model of a patient’s coronary arteries indicating the impact blockages have on blood flow to the heart. Heartflow is the first AI-driven non-invasive integrated heart care solution across the CCTA pathway that helps clinicians identify stenoses in the coronary arteries (RoadMap™Analysis), assess coronary blood flow (FFRCT Analysis), and characterize and quantify coronary atherosclerosis (Plaque Analysis). Our pipeline of products is growing and so is our team; join us in helping to revolutionize precision heartcare.

Heartflow is a publicly traded company (HTFL) that has received international recognition for exceptional strides in healthcare innovation, is supported by medical societies around the world, cleared for use in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Canada, and has been used for more than 400,000 patients worldwide.

The Senior Manager, Medical Education – Cardiology plays a strategic and hands-on role in shaping impactful peer-to-peer learning experiences for healthcare professionals across the cardiovascular community. This individual will drive the design, faculty engagement, and content oversight for regional symposia, hands-on workshops, and other scientific education initiatives.

As a key member of the Medical Affairs team, this role focuses on ensuring that all educational programs are scientifically rigorous, clinically relevant, compliant and aligned with the company’s medical and strategic objectives.

This position partners closely with medical experts, HCP faculty, and cross-functional internal teams. While program logistics are supported by a dedicated operations function, this role owns the scientific, strategic, and faculty-facing aspects of each educational initiative.

Key Responsibilities

Program Strategy & Scientific Leadership

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of regional and national medical education initiatives (e.g., symposia, workshops, and hands-on sessions) focused on cardiac imaging.
  • Ensure educational content aligns with therapeutic strategy, scientific objectives, and audience needs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with faculty to develop, refine, and review content that is both scientifically accurate and educationally engaging.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Clinical, Regulatory, Compliance, Marketing) to ensure alignment and compliance across all programs.

Faculty Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), speakers, and moderators in the cardiology community.
  • Facilitate scientific collaboration with faculty, ensuring clarity in messaging and consistency in educational objectives.
  • Represent the organization on-site at symposia and workshops (approximately 30% travel) to oversee program execution and faculty engagement.

Content Oversight & Scientific Storytelling

  • Oversee the development, review, and quality control of medical education materials, ensuring scientific accuracy, balance, and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Transform complex clinical data into clear, compelling educational narratives for diverse HCP audiences (e.g., preventive and general cardiologists, interventionalists, radiologists, APPs, and primary care providers).
  • Maintain consistency in clinical messaging and branding across all educational content.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic connector between internal functions to integrate scientific insights, brand objectives, and education strategy.
  • Partner with meeting operations colleagues to ensure seamless logistical execution of educational programs.
  • Provide clear communication and updates to stakeholders on program objectives, timelines, and outcomes.

Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Collect and analyze participant feedback and performance metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Monitor trends in medical education and cardiology to inform program innovation and strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or healthcare discipline required; advanced degree (MS, PharmD, PhD, MD) preferred.
  • 15 years work experience with at least 7 years of experience in medical education, scientific communications, or medical affairs within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
  • Strong background in cardiology or related therapeutic areas strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing faculty relationships and scientific content for HCP educational programs.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and industry regulations for medical education.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30%, including weekends when required for conferences.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience leading symposia and workshops at major cardiology congresses.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate science into meaningful educational impact.
  • Collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Comfortable guiding faculty and cross-functional teams toward cohesive scientific narratives.

Travel: Approximately 30% (domestic, primarily for congresses and symposia).

A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $150,000 to $175,000 per year, bonus, and equity. #LI-Hybrid
