This role is remote, travel 4-6 times per year, and expected schedule requirements are Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm eastern or central time.
What You’ll Do
The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, Behavioral Health provides medication management and clinical expertise in psychiatric pharmacotherapy. You will provide direct patient care services and develop medication management programs with a focus in behavioral health. You will work in coordination with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager on program implementation and maintenance. Through these functions the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Behavioral Health promotes optimal medication therapy, disease outcomes, and value of care for children and youth with special healthcare needs.
In this role you will:
Program Development (30%)
- Develop scalable, behavioral health focused medication management program
- Evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral health focused medication management programs
- Align with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager on operational and education needs for the clinical pharmacy team to implement and scale behavioral health medication management programs
- Develop operational structure for behavioral health medication management program, in coordination with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager
- Ensure training and education of the interdisciplinary team to support consistent delivery of medication management services focused on behavioral health.
- Develop education programs for patients and clinicians
- Maintain subject matter expertise the behavioral health medication management programs
- Promote the practice of evidence-based, cost-effective behavioral health medication management by keeping abreast of new drugs, devices, and medical literature
- Liaison between the regions and the medication management center of excellence
- Clinical pharmacy liaison for the behavioral health central of excellence
Patient Care (70%)
- Patient care will be focused on patients with behavioral health medication management needs while ensuring holistic care across conditions
- Support the regional clinical pharmacy teams as the SME in behavioral health medication management
- Provide medication management services inclusive of medication access, medication education, medication adherence, comprehensive/directed medication management, and quality metric support for the regions in alignment with the programs as designed by the medication management center of excellence
- Assist with medication access management services between the patient, pharmacy, insurance, and medical provider through oversite and support of the region Medication Support Navigators
- Provide accurate, thorough medication education, medication adherence assessment, and comprehensive/directed medication management through direct interactions with patients/caregivers, internal and external care team members, and works independently under individualized scope of clinical practice (where applicable)
- Document encounters in the patient electronic medical record, including closed-loop communication with interdisciplinary care teams
- Document/report adverse drug events (ADEs), medication allergies and medication errors per procedure
- Practice pharmacy in compliance with all governing regulatory authorities

Education & Training Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college/university of pharmacy (Pharm.D) required
- Must hold an unrestricted, current pharmacist license with ability to obtain licensure by reciprocity in each state where telehealth services will be provided
- Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency required
- Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-2 Psychiatric Pharmacy, strongly preferred Pediatric Residency
- In lieu of a PGY-2 Psychiatric Pharmacy residency – a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency or PGY1 Pharmacy Residency with required work experience below, may be considered
- Applicable Board Certification – Psychiatric Pharmacy or Pediatric Pharmacy
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
Work Experience
- 3+ years of practice experience, post-PGY1 residency, in an applicable direct patient care setting, require for candidates without completion of PGY2
- 2+ years of practice experience, post-PGY2 residency, preferred
- Behavioral health or psychiatry clinical practice experience required. Preferably pediatric and/or adolescent practice experience

This role offers a base salary range of $150,000 - $175,000 in addition to annual bonus incentive, competitive company benefits package and eligibility to participate in an employee equity purchase program (as applicable). When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors including job-related knowledge, skills and experience. These considerations may cause your compensation to vary.
