Job Description

As a CSSF-approved Conducting Officer in charge of Portfolio Management, in a third party AIFM servicing funds with the following investment strategies: Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Debt, Fund of funds, etc. you will ensure that investment strategies and delegated functions - when applicable - are effectively managed, aligning with regulatory requirements, investor expectations, and the AIFM’s objectives. You will act as a key leader within the governance and senior management framework.

You will

  • Portfolio management performance and oversight of PM delegates
    • Collaborate with clients’ investment teams to ensure fund investments align with strategy, risk appetite, and performance targets; oversee asset allocation and portfolio construction.
    • Monitor delegated portfolio managers: conduct due diligence, set and track KPIs/SLAs, escalate issues, and report on portfolio activity.
  • Investment committee & reporting
    • Chair investment committees for funds for which the AIFM acts as portfolio manager
    • Participate in defining investment processes and framework; support pipeline development and deal approvals
    • Produce and present periodic reports to the Board and Executive Committee; ensure data is clear and actionable.
  • Regulatory & Compliance governance
    • Implement oversight procedures per CSSF Circular 18698 and AIFMD; notify regulators of delegation changes and maintain documentation.
    • Serve as primary contact with CSSF and other regulatory bodies; manage audits, inspections, and regulatory filings.
  • Delegate & service provider management
    • Ensure oversight on delegated portfolio managers, investment advisors, and service providers; perform ongoing DDQ’s and onsite reviews.
  • Governance & board Interaction
    • Participate in investment committees and CO-level committees; fulfill governance duties for including minutes, filings, and decisions.

Qualifications

  • Experience
    • 8 to 10+ years in portfolio management, asset management, covering the following investment strategies: private equity / real estate / debt / infrastructure / venture capital, ideally within an AIFM or ManCo in Luxembourg.
    • Proven experience in portfolio management & related investment committees, delegate oversight, fund governance, and regulatory interaction.
    • CSSF Approved: You have previously held a Conducting Officer mandate or an equivalent senior management role approved by the regulator.
  • Education
    • Master’s or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or relevant field.
  • Technical Skills
    • Deep understanding of AIFMD, CSSF regulations (esp. Circular 18698), ESMA guidelines applicable to AIFMs
    • Strong analytical skills: portfolio analysis, performance and risk reporting.
    • Expertise in ESG integration or SFDR
  • Languages
    • o Fluent English is essential. French or another EU language is a strong asset.
