Job Description
As the Head of Strategic Finance Projects, you will play a key role in reshaping our global finance operations. You will connect Finance, IT, and broader business teams to ensure that our systems not only meet current needs but also bolster our future growth and efficiency. Beyond the primary ERP consolidation and advancement, you will drive other strategic initiatives vital for Avaloq’s overall success.
Key Tasks:
Project Management excellence
- Establish a robust project management structure for Finance. Implement industry-standard methodologies to ensure consistent delivery across the portfolio.
- Develop detailed project plans to ensure all milestones are met on schedule and within budget. Track performance, implement corrective actions and conduct rigorous post-project evaluations .
- Independently execute key projects with a global team and an optimized resource allocation, always in best quality, time and budget
- Architect and lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for consolidating two legacy on-prem systems into a single, cohesive cloud-based solution.
The change agent: Modernity & efficiency
- Act as a tireless change agent, leading the Finance function out of legacy constraints and into a modern, automated, and scalable digital environment.
- Champion the “simplification first” principle. Before automating, you will challenge existing complexities to ensure we are building lean, efficient processes rather than just digitizing old ones.
- Ensure that new systems deliver systems that provide real-time insights, allowing Finance to act as a strategic advisor to the wider business.
- Foster a culture within the Finance organization that embraces industry-standard technology and continuous improvement.
Leadership and stakeholder engagement
- Lead and mentor the strategic projects team to boost performance and professional growth.; encourage innovative thinking and problem-solving within the Finance organization.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, gathering feedback and leading meetings to promote transparency and set clear expectations.
- Develop and execute communication plans to keep the organization engaged and provide training to ensure smooth adoption of new systems.
Qualifications
- Strong proven track record of working in a similar role, ideally within a banking software provider
- You will have strong experience of ERP platforms, e.g., SAP, including implementations, upgrades and finance modules.
- Strong proven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects where you manage the timelines, budget, risks and stakeholder engagement using your fantastic communication and drive.
- You will have evidence of leading at least one full ERP migration to the cloud for the full project life-cyle.
- You will have strong conceptual thinking skills and be proficient in data analysis and visualisation, but equally capable of explaining these complex concepts in an easy-to-understand way to those that dont.
