Our client is a US-based healthcare provider specializing in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy, delivering evidence-based programs for children and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental needs. Their clinical teams work closely with families to support behavioral development, communication, and daily living skills.
We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Authorizations Specialist to support the client’s revenue cycle operations. Initially, this role focuses on preparing, submitting, and managing medical claims and insurance authorizations, with the opportunity to progress to full end-to-end billing responsibilities as training advances.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (3:00 PM – 12:00 AM South African time – subject to daylight savings).
- Public Holidays: This role requires working on both South African and US public holidays (SA public holidays compensated in accordance with the BCEA).
- Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet capability is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
- Power Backup: Reliable backup required to manage load shedding or outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
- Work Environment: Fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit medical claims to US insurance providers
- Review and correct rejected or denied claims
- Follow up with insurers on outstanding or unpaid claims
- Maintain accurate billing documentation and workflow tracking
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure billing accuracy
- Gradually take ownership of end-to-end billing processes as training progresses
Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in US healthcare billing
- Strong understanding of US insurance processes and claims workflows
- Experience handling denied or rejected claims and performing corrective actions
- Highly organized with attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
- Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook
- ABA therapy billing experience is advantageous
