Job Description
Kettle is a fast growing Managing General Agency (MGA) specializing in wildfire insurance combining advanced underwriting technology with deep industry experience. We are seeking an Underwriter to join our team and grow their career in property underwriting. Â This role will report directly to the Senior Underwriter and require expertise in performing underwriting activities for E&S property risks along with developing strong broker relationships.
Primary Responsibilities
Underwriting commercial property risks under the guidance of senior underwriters.
Responsibility for maintaining a profitable book of E&S property business
Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers
Ability to apply underwriting controls, policies, and guidelines.
Conduct research on property E&S market dynamics, trends, and competitive landscape.
Support the implementation of new policy administration and underwriting workbench platforms.
Up to 5% travel.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required
2-4 years of experience in E&S property underwriting (Ground up, primary and loss limit) along with wildfire exposures
Licensed in surplus lines in the Western US required, all 50 states preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000
This position is eligible for stock options (subject to board approval)
