Job Description

About LEAP

LEAP is the leading provider of Legal Practice Management Solutions in the world and is part of ATI – one of the largest international LegalTech companies. For more than 30 years, our curiosity and commitment to continual improvement has kept us reimagining productivity tools for lawyers and their staff to support our guiding purpose, to ‘Help lawyers who help people’. The market-leading software we develop, and support is used by more than 71,000 lawyers and their staff in small and medium-sized law firms.

Working alongside our international team of passionate high achievers, you’ll join a fast-growing technology business where things seldom stay the same for long. With more than 1000 smart, caring and ambitious ‘LEAPsters’ working together across Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Poland and New Zealand, you’ll find yourself in good company here.

Meet the Litigation team

The Litigation team is a specialist division within LEAP focused on building software for litigation lawyers. We are a cross-functional team of legal professionals, software engineers, designers and product specialists working together to create practical, high-impact tools for law firms.

Our products span the full litigation workflow from matter setup and court forms through to AI-assisted drafting, brief generation, and client-facing reporting tools. Everything we build is shaped by real legal practice, direct client feedback and a genuine understanding of how litigation teams work. This role sits at the centre of that bringing NSW litigation expertise into the product to make sure what we build is accurate, practical and genuinely useful.

What you’ll do

As the Litigation Lawyer, you will bring practical litigation experience into the product development process, helping product and engineering teams build better tools for lawyers working across general litigation. You’ll report to the Litigation Vertical Manager and work closely with other lawyers in the team, including an experienced Victorian litigation lawyer.

You will help improve existing functionality, shape new workflows, and contribute to smarter AI-assisted drafting and process tools, working closely with and supported by our product and development teams.

You do not need to have worked in legal technology or product before. We know this may be a new kind of role for the right person. What matters is that you are keen to learn, open to working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, and excited to collaborate with product, design and engineering teams. We will provide training and support to help you succeed in the role.

To make this happen you will

  • Collaborate with product managers to design and prioritise litigation features based on client feedback, market trends and business needs.

  • Provide practical legal insight into workflows, documentation and court processes to support accurate, useful product design.

  • Test and review functionality to ensure it meets the real-world needs of law firms.

  • Work directly with clients to deliver training, gather feedback and identify opportunities to improve their workflows.

  • Refine software functionality to reduce friction and streamline the way litigation matters are managed.

  • Keep across developments in broader litigation practice to inform future product enhancements.

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years’ PQE in litigation, with broad practical experience across NSW litigation and ideally some exposure to federal litigation.

  • Experience across a range of contentious matters, with a strong working knowledge of litigation procedures, court processes, document workflows and the practical steps involved in running matters from commencement through to resolution.

  • Strong drafting skills and sound legal judgment, with the ability to translate legal process into clear, practical and usable workflows.

  • Experience in, or a willingness to learn how to work across legal, product and engineering teams in a technology business.

  • An interest in working directly with clients, gathering feedback and helping shape better litigation workflows.

  • An interest in legal technology, automation and the future of legal practice.
