Legalist is a tech-enabled alternative asset manager that uses proprietary data-driven origination to invest in uncorrelated legal and government-payment assets. Founded out of Y Combinator in 2016, Legalist manages over $1.7 billion for endowments, foundations, and family offices.
We’re hiring a Head of Recruiting and Human Resources at Legalist. This position reports directly to Legalist’s leadership. You’ll be joining a growing team of investment professionals, attorneys, and software engineers. Core responsibilities:
- Own recruiting companywide, including originating attractive candidates from various pipelines
- Assist leadership with developing compensation and retention programs for senior staff members
- Manage payroll/compensation, benefits, and related administrative matters for a fully distributed team of investment professionals
- Oversee annual evaluation process and facilitate year-round performance feedback for individual teams/personnel
- Develop and own employee onboarding and ongoing training processes
- Assist and provide guidance to executive and legal teams on employment law compliance and related issues
Qualifications:
- 7+ years’ total relevant experience
- 3+ years’ experience originating prospective candidates in financial services (e.g., private funds or asset management)
- Highly organized with well-developed attention to detail and project management abilities
- Prior experience at multistate and/or international employer strongly preferred
- Flexibility, humility, and a sense of humor required
