As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for providing daily accounting and financial support to the finance team. This role focuses on handling junior-level accounting functions, including journal processing, accurate data entry, and performing bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial records.
You will also assist with month-end reporting activities and carry out various administrative accounting tasks to support timely and accurate financial reporting. The role requires strong attention to detail and organization to help maintain efficient financial operations and compliance with internal accounting processes.

As they continue to expand their Philippine-based team, they are looking to hire a Financial Accountant to support their growing operations. This role will be responsible for daily accounting tasks, including journal processing, data entry, reconciliations, and month-end reporting, helping ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring general ledger journals, including cost and provision accruals, prepayments, fixed asset entries, and other intercompany cost recharge journals
•Perform bank transaction allocations and prepare bank reconciliations on a continuous basis, with final reconciliation completed at month-end
•Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
•Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with close calendars
•Maintain fixed asset and prepayment records and process movements such as disposals and amortisation
•Assist in preparing documentation for external audits, ensuring compliance with requirements
•Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for some of the smaller Australian subsidiaries
•Assist with the preparation and uploading of trial balances into the ERP for entities that are not integrated with the reporting system
•Assist with various tax and reporting requirements, including BAS and FBT lodgement workpapers
•Escalate any discrepancies, errors or issues identified to the core finance team
•Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
Must-have Skills / Qualification:
•Minimum 2 years of general accounting experience
•Strong numerical and data entry skills
•Proficiency in MS Excel (basic formulas, spreadsheets)
•Good written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to collaborate with foreign counterparts
•High attention to detail and accuracy
•Willingness to learn and take direction
•Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
•Strong team-oriented and collaborative skills
•Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic work ethic
Advantageous or Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce or related field
•Exposure to accounting software such as Netsuite and Xero
•Experience working with offshore or international clients
•CPA or preparing to acquire this certification
