You will combine continuous improvement expertise (Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence) with broader transformation project leadership, driving changes in process, operating model, and ways of working.  You will own end-to-end delivery of initiatives that optimize and standardize core business processes , clarify roles, decision rights, and handoffs (org and operating model design)  and embed change management and adoption practices that stick. You will work closely with leaders across Nexamp to define problems, co-create solutions, and measure impact. This role is strategic and hands-on, ideal for someone who can operate in ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders, and drive measurable, sustainable improvement.

We are supporting hybrid work out of either our Boston, Chicago, or Washington D.C. offices. You will report to the Director, Transformation.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives end-to-end, from problem framing and current-state diagnosis through future-state design, implementation, and sustainment.

Scope, prioritize, and sequence portfolio work in alignment with Transformation’s operating model and enterprise priorities, balancing speed, risk, practicality, and the right level of standardization or control.

  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods to identify root causes, redesign workflows and operating models, and reduce waste, variability, and friction.
  • Analyze and redesign processes, governance, and organizational structures, clarifying ownership, decision rights, handoffs, role architecture, and operating model gaps to improve effectiveness and scalability.
  • Develop standardized workflows, governance mechanisms, and decision frameworks e.g.,decisiongates, RACI/RAPID, playbookse.g. that increase predictability, accountability, and consistency.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data, including scenario modeling and impact metrics, to evaluate tradeoffs, prioritize opportunities, and communicate clear, decision-ready recommendations.
  • Identify technology, automation, and people-related enablement opportunities, translating redesigned processes and operating models into clear requirements, capability gaps, and change implications for Product & Tech, People, and other partners.
  • Build and execute change strategies that include stakeholder alignment, communications, training, adoption metrics, and reinforcement plans to ensure new ways of working are implemented and sustained.
  • Partner closely with leaders and cross-functional teams across Nexamp to align process, structure, people, and technology changes, facilitate workshops, and deliver executive-ready communications and presentations

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in transformation, continuous improvement, operations, consulting, or related fields, including 3+ years leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through implementation and sustainment.
  • Strong expertise in process improvement and operating model design, including Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, process mapping, root cause analysis, and clarifying roles, responsibilities, and decision rights.
  • Proven project, program, and change management capabilities, including planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, communications, and adoption measurement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to identify root causes, evaluate opportunities, and translate findings into clear recommendations and action.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging across audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building and influence skills, with the ability to align stakeholders and drive progress without formal authority.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments, balancing ambiguity with pragmatic execution and a strong ownership mindset.
  • Preferred: certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP, PRINCE2, or Prosci.
  • Preferred: experience with organizational design, digital transformation, automation, data visualization, and complex asset-heavy industries such as energy or infrastructure.
  • Proficient in Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, and creating clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and Nexamp’s mission to solve tomorrow’s climate crisis today.
