We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our high-performance engineering teams in building scalable, real-time communication platforms. You will guide the architectural vision for our microservices ecosystem, ensure operational excellence, and mentor a team of talented engineers.
The Role
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery and quality of critical backend services that power our Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) platform. You will work effectively across the entire software development lifecycle, from system design to production observability.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 10+ backend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Technical Strategy: Drive architectural decisions for our Java/Spring Boot microservices architecture, transitioning towards reactive patterns using Spring WebFlux.
- Technology Scouting: Stay well-versed with new technologies and emerging trends to keep our stack modern and efficient.
- Scale & Performance: Ensure high availability and low latency for real-time communication services utilizing Redis, MongoDB, and distributed caching strategies.
- Cloud Operations: Champion cloud-native best practices on GCP and AWS, including containerization (Kubernetes) and rigorous CI/CD pipelines.
Critical Tech Stack Experience
You should have deep, hands-on experience with our core stack:
- Languages: Java 17+ (Expert level).
- Frameworks: Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Cloud, Spring WebFlux (Reactive Stack).
- Data: MongoDB (Advanced modeling), Redis (Distributed locking/Caching).
- Cloud & DevOps: Google Cloud Platform, AWS (S3), Kubernetes, Docker.
- Observability: Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTracing.
Nice to Haves
- AI-Assisted Development: Experience using AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT) to accelerate development workflows.
- Experience in VoIP / CPaaS / CCaaS domains (Twilio, Sinch, Bandwidth integrations).
- Background in building Event-Driven Architectures (Kafka, EventGrid).
- Familiarity with security standards (OAuth2, JWT, PGP encryption).
