We are seeking a Software Engineer IV with extensive experience and documentable success using AI code generation tools.
This is a hybrid remote based role based in Glasgow (1-2 days a week)
JOB DUTIES
- Â Use AI code generation tools like Cursor to automate and optimize coding tasks, including autocompletion, code generation, and debugging.
- Collaborate effectively with other non-technical team members like Product on AI tools that are useful from product perspective like lovable.dev, v0.dev, subframe etc.
- Integrate AI code generation tools into the development workflow.
- Implement and enforce coding standards using AI tools to maintain high-quality code and reduce technical debt.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and software development to continuously improve workflows and tool usage.
- Train team members on the effective use of AI code generation tools.
- Contribute to and lead code reviews, design reviews, effort estimates, task breakdowns, and feature development efforts.
- Optimize generated code for performance, security and scalability.
- Contribute towards continuously improving the performance, scalability, and reliability of Planet DDS products.
- Ensure ethical guidelines and standards are maintained in AI developments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in a software engineering/development role.
- Proven experience as a software engineer with hands-on experience using AI code generation tools like Cursor, Github Copilot, Google AI Studio.
- Ability to use AI tools to solve complex technical challenges and/or build utilities to automate tasks.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices
- Proficiency in identifying and resolving issues in AI-generated code.
- Ability to identify, analyze, troubleshoot challenges effectively to ensure quality code is produced which is secure and scalable.
- Track record as a strong individual contributor with experience in offering technical leadership to colleagues.
- Experience working with datasets / databases (particularly SQL Server).
- Experience working with cloud providers to build/deploy/host solutions (ideally Microsoft Azure).
- Experience in a CI/CD environment.
- Very strong collaboration skills and a confident communicator.
- Ability to engage across the company to achieve goals.
