We are a 501©(3) charitable nonprofit organization founded in 1916, operating in the Hospitals and Health Care industry. Our network of independently incorporated affiliates across the United States runs health centers that offer reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people. This includes providing safe, legal abortion and other sexual health resources.

Through our Planned Parenthood Global initiative, we also work with advocates overseas to expand access to health care.

Our mission is to protect access to sexual and reproductive health care and education for everyone, no matter their circumstances. We are dedicated to creating a healthier world by ensuring access to health care and rights for all.

Our leaders and staff are committed to providing quality health care, education, and information globally, and we advocate for women’s health, safety, and basic human rights.

We have between 501 and 1000 staff members, plus many volunteers and interns. We believe our people are our greatest strength; our employees and volunteers provide compassionate care and make a difference every day.
