About Planned Parenthood Southeast
We provide reproductive health care, sex education, and health information, also supporting similar organizations globally. For over a century, Planned Parenthood has promoted a commonsense approach to women’s health, respecting each person’s right to make informed decisions about their health, sexuality, and family planning.
We currently operate 7 health centers across Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.
Our roots in the Southeast began in 1930 with a Planned Parenthood affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama, the oldest in the region. The Atlanta, Georgia, affiliate started in 1964, and services expanded to Mississippi in 1989. In 2010, these three state-level organizations merged to form Planned Parenthood Southeast (PPSE).

This belief guides our services and advocacy.
Historically, we have promoted a commonsense approach to women’s health and well-being. A core part of this approach is our deep respect for each person’s autonomy and their right to make independent, informed decisions about their health, sexual life, and family planning.
