Job description
đźš‚ About Pulley
Pulley’s mission is to make it easier for anyone to start a company. We believe that more startups should exist and that founder-led companies are more successful in the long term. With Pulley’s cap table management tools, companies can better understand and optimize their equity for the long term. Starting a company is hard enough. Managing equity shouldn’t be.
We’re a high-performing team looking for passionate, execution-focused, self-starters to help us build equity management tools for founders. Pulley is growing quickly with over 3000 customers including unicorns like Clubhouse, Birdies, and Coda - all within our first year of product launch. Our trajectory is fueled by top investors like Founders Fund, Stripe, General Catalyst, Caffeinated Capital, 8vc, Elad Gil, among other great angels. All of our growth has been organic, and we’re growing the team to meet the demand.
🌟 About the role
We’re looking for a Principal Professional Services Analyst with deep stock-based compensation (SBC) expertise to join Pulley’s Professional Services team. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on owning SBC reporting and delivery for our clients.
All analysts join a shared pool and work across various service engagements—including onboarding, 409A valuations, and equity administration—which allows you to build well-rounded expertise. This role focuses on SBC reporting and equity administration: you’ll primarily run SBC expense reports for both self-service clients (initial report setup and configuration) and full-service clients (comprehensive ASC 718 calculations and deliverables), and perform equity administration tasks for clients as needed. You’ll also support other service engagements as needed and partner closely with Engineering to build and refine our SBC tooling, directly shaping how Pulley scales using technology.
đź› What you’ll do
Lead end-to-end SBC expense reporting for different business structures and incentive grants:
- LLCs: Profit Interest Units (PIUs), Phantom Units
- C corporations: Restricted Stock Awards (RSAs), Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), Stock Options, Phantom Equity
Perform initial SBC report setup for self-service clients and deliver audit-defensible full reports for full-service clients, including ASC 718 expense calculations and journal entries
Handle complex SBC scenarios: modifications, cancellations, performance-based grants, market-based vesting conditions
Partner with Engineering to improve SBC tooling—translate accounting requirements into product specs, test features, prioritize enhancements
Serve as technical SBC expert for clients and internal teams, applying US GAAP accounting standards under ASC 718
Offer flex support for other service type engagements including equity administration tasks and other service engagements (409A valuations, onboarding) as needed
Build scalable SBC processes, documentation, and best practices
🙌 What you’ll bring
Required:
- 2-3+ years hands-on experience with stock-based compensation expense calculations and reporting
- Proficiency with ASC 718 under US GAAP
- Experience with modifications, performance-based grants, market-based vesting conditions, and other complex SBC scenarios
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to clearly communicate complex SBC concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including clients and engineering teams
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Experience performing SBC services in an audit or advisory capacity
Preferred:
- CPA, CEP, or CES credential
- Experience with equity administration
- IFRS knowledge for share-based payments
- Background at audit firms or financial reporting consulting
- Familiarity with equity admin platforms or cap table tools
- Experience collaborating with engineering/product teams
✨ Why work at Pulley?

Being aggressively considerate means caring about one another as humans and speaking up with empathy so we can succeed together as a team.
- Ego-less Learner - Everyday at Pulley, we’re trying things that we’ve never done before - sometimes they work; sometimes they don’t. It’s important to embrace the mindset of a beginner - stay curious, open to feedback, and ready to learn and grow alongside the team.
