SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA)

Job Details
- Employment Type: Full‑time
- Work Hours: Standard business hours with occasional off‑hours support
- Work Model: remote with 1 week onsite per quarter

- Technology Stack: SQL Server 2019, SSMS, SSRS, MongoDB (hosted), Power BI, PowerShell, PostgreSQL, .NET, SSIS, ZappySys (helpful but not required)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, scripts, and ETL workflows for data movement across diverse sources.
- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments at a 99.9% uptime standard.
- Manage SSRS reporting, including report creation, optimization, and system integration.
- Oversee a hosted MongoDB environment and support cross‑platform data tasks.
- Perform proactive performance tuning, capacity planning, and real‑time monitoring.
- Implement and execute database backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery strategies.
- Develop automation scripts for routine DBA operations and monitoring.
- Drive continuous improvement through monitoring, alerting, and system optimization.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with SQL Server administration, isolation levels, normalization, and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
- Ability to support database operations in a 24⁄7 environment when needed.
- Hands‑on experience with SSIS and ETL processes (ZappySys a plus).
- Working knowledge of Power BI, PowerShell, PostgreSQL, or .NET (preferred but not required).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Highly self‑directed, able to work independently, and effective at managing multiple deadlines.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or comparable project tools.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred but not required with equivalent experience).
